Memoirist & Speaker
Finding My Voice: The New Metric
A memoir about finding your voice by learning to listen.
“For forty years, I held the keys to other people's doors, only to discover that the most complicated rooms are the ones inside ourselves.”

The story
Phil Bubar is a memoirist, speaker, and lifelong storyteller — the son of Russian Jewish immigrants, a property manager turned playwright, a two-term Rotary Club president, and the man who once answered to the title of mayor of Venice. His book, Finding My Voice: The New Metric, is part memoir, part manifesto: an honest, warm story about identity, belonging, culture, family, and becoming more fully yourself.
The book lives in these rooms:
- Identity
- Belonging
- Culture
- Family
- Becoming more fully yourself
Phil's philosophy
Phil's philosophy is simple to say and hard to live: be a contributor, not a title-holder. Open your hands and give the gift away. Plant what you want to grow, and then stay and water it. Listen before you speak — because the voice was never the point; the ears came first.
